From the West...

A New Year is upon us.  I hope and pray that everyone had a wonderful holiday.  I wish to thank everyone for their vote of confidence in electing me Senior Warden.  Congratulations go out to Brothers Bob Ganster on his election as Junior Warden and also of course to our new master, Brother Rich Phillips.  I am confident that under Richís lead we will have a very exciting and fun year!  Thanks goes out to Nancy Phillips for all the hard work she put forth last year.  Also, a thanks goes out to my wife for all the help and support she gave me last year.  Remember guys, without the wifeís blessing and support, we would not be able to have so much fun.  Letís continue to strive to make freemasonry a family event, something we can all be proud of in the busy world of today.

Special congratulations and thank you goes out to Brother Bill Dorner on a fine year.  Bill has taught me most of my degree work since I joined and I would like all of you to wish him the best in his endeavors and send him congratulations on an outstanding year.

Once again I extend my invitation to each of you to come and help us out on the floor.  You too can find this a very rewarding experience, and who knows, maybe you will find yourself in the east one day to be master of the lodge.  If you have the time, we will be very happy to teach you the material.  If you ever feel that you need to get out of the house and would like to brush up on your degree work, come to the lodge on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM for practice or on our degree nights and hopefully help out on the floor.  Remember that there are always jobs for everyone so donít think you have to be a genius to do floor work (look at me).

Also a reminder for the Pittsburgh North Side School of instruction, located at 525 Lincoln Ave. in Avalon.  They meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM.  Of special interest are February 14 and May 9.  These days we will be practicing Business of the lodge and the Funeral Service.  For more information about these or any other events please contact Brother Bill Bigley Jr. P.M. or one of the officers.

In closing, I would like to take this time to ask all of you to remember all our sick or injured brethren in the craft.  I look forward to seeing you at the January meeting.  Thank you and have a happy and safe month of January.

Sincerely and Fraternally Yours,
Michael S. Mammay Ė Senior Warden
