Brother,
It was nice to see such a fantastic turnout for the January stated meeting.
I know I enjoy participating in carrying out the business of the Lodge, but
I cannot overemphasize how much it means to all of us who look to the sidelines
and see so many of you who participate as well. Just by you making the effort
to come to the lodge, and show your support makes it all worthwhile to all
of us.
The February stated Meeting will be held on Friday, February 13, beginning
with Dinner at 6:45 p.rn., then proceeding to the Lodge room at 7:45 for
the business meeting, and a program on "Jack the Ripper". This program should
be very interesting, especially since it is being held on Friday the 13th.
For those of you who are superstitious, I will reserve some seats for you
near the back of the Lodge, right next to the door in case the storyline
gets the best of you and you get "Spooked" into exiting stage left
We also have several Extra Meeting nights planned for February, including
Tuesday, February 10, and Friday February 20, for the purpose of conferring
degrees on candidates who are working very dilligently. If you haven't been
to an Extra Meeting for a while, please consider coming to the lodge on one
of these nights. I have witnessed some exceptional degrees conferred in the
past months, and the experience is so much more gratifying when there are
a lot of people there to watch the work completed. It really does mean a
lot to the candidate when they look to the faces in the crowd, as they go
through the solemn ceremonies, and see so many men who accept him for who
he is.
By participating in these events, we also show the candidate that we are
a Unified Fraternity. There is no reason for you to feel embarrassed because
you have not been to a lodge function for a long time. I can assure you,
you are ALWAYS welcome.
I would also like to invite you, your family and friends, to join us for
a fun filled, exciting afternoon of Bowling. Brother Scott Beatty is now
making arrangements for us to enjoy 4 solid hours of Bowling on Saturday,
March 28, 1998 from 11:00 a.m., to 3:00 pm., at the Noble Manor Lanes on
Greentree Hill. Lunch and Refreshments will be provided, as well as free
shoe rental. The cost will be $9.00 per person, and you are encouraged to
attend with your spouse and children.
Please contact me if you would like to join us and have a great deal of fun.
I have been told in the past that I "Bowl like a DUCK", so for those of you
who are like me, Bumper blocks will be provided to avoid those pesky Gutter
Balls that continually stop me from scoring more than fifty points.
Your Senior Warden,
