September

Brother,

I know the summer is almost over when I celebrate Labor Day, and we watch the little ones start back to school. I can tell you this from experience, these past summer months absolutely flew by, and if you were there celebrating with the Lodge, I know you had fun and you were probably as exhausted as I was.

The reason for that is because we had so many things to do! I really want to thank all of you who helped plan and run the events through the summer. Every single outing went off without a hitch, and it was because of dedicated Officers and members like you, that we all could bring our families and enjoy the picnics, parties, ball games, retreats, and trips. To me, that is the essence of this fraternity, and this Lodge is the ONLY Lodge that can provide all of that for you every year, non-stop.

I have said it before, and I really mean it. I am very proud of this Lodge and it’s officers and members, and you should be too. Every year the events seem to get larger, and the fellowship grows. A perfect example of this is the Family Picnic, where we had an unprecedented attendance of over 100 people this year! For a brief moment, I looked around the picnic area, watching all the people playing games, eating, and just having a wonderful time talking with old friends and making new ones, and I told myself that this is what the fraternity was all about. That is why I joined in the first place, and I am sure you feel the same way.

Although the summer months are coming to an end, our Lodge event schedule is merely shifting from third gear into overdrive. September will prove to be an excellent month and should start us off well with the Stated meeting on Friday September 10, 1999 featuring a K-9 presentation. I can assure you, this will be an exceptional demonstration that you and your family will enjoy!

Also remember the NWS Stag picnic scheduled for Saturday September 18, 1999 at Richland Grove in North Park. It will begin around 3:00 p.m., and will provide another opportunity to enjoy good fellowship over an exceptionally prepared steak dinner.

I would also like to thank the scholarship committee for completing the VERY hard task of sifting through all of the applications we received, and awarding two college students $1500 scholarships to continue their education this year. It is just another way Corinthian Lodge has provided the standard for excellence which no other Lodge in this area can match!

Sincerely and Fraternally,

Worshipful Master
